To every 3 pounds of rags or cloth, sugar of

a cup of cold water. Have just water enough in
each case to cover the rags. Dip into the lead
water, then wring out dry each change that is made,
then into the potash, and continue the process un-
til the color suits. It takes very quick.
ORANGE.
Dip these yellow rags in lime water hot, and
wring and rinse. Gives a very pretty orange.
GREEN.
The yellow rags dipped into the blue die makes
a beautiful green. Of course the blue must be
quite hot.
