Sliced Chicken Sandwich Spread thin slices of buttered bread with mayonnaise dress- ing. Cover each slice with leaf of lettuce. Cover lettuce with thin slices of breast of chicken. Garnish -vsath paprika and parsley. May be serv-ed as an open or closed sandwich. 296 THE INTERNATIONAL COOK BOOK Sandwich Loaf Remove crust from a loaf of bread. Slice bread lengthwise four times. Butter on both sides of all the slices except the top and bottom ones. Make filling as follows: Red: Four slices ham (chopped), one pimento (chopped). Yellow: Three hard-cooked eggs mixed ^ath mayonnaise. White: One-half package cream cheese softened with one- quarter cucumber (chopped) and one tablespoon onion juice. Green: Four small sweet pickles, one-quarter cup chives (chopped). Spread slices of buttered bread with the fillings in the order given. Mix three cream cheeses with sweet cream and spread on the outside of loaf. Keep in cold place several hours before slicing. Garnish for serving.
