Com Chowder
I chopped onion i potato (diced)
1 ounce salt pork 2 cuf)5 boiling water

Cut salt pork fine. Fry the salt pork. Skim out the meat
and fry the onion in the fat. Simmer the com in the two cups
of boiling water for about ten minutes. Add the milk and diced
potato, pork, onion, salt, and pepper. When well blended,
serve with crackers.
Vegetable Chowder
1 cup tomatoes i onion (chopped)
2 cups milk I tablespoon butter
yi teaspoon salt i tablespoon flour
3^ teaspoon pepper 1 cup canned com
I cup cooked potatoes (diced) 4 slices bacon (cut fine)
Fry onion and bacon in butter imtil brown Add flour and
cook two minutes. Add com, potatoes, salt, p)epper, and milk.
Let simmer fortv-five minutes. Ser\-e hot with crackers.
